our people died and eight others sustained severe injuries after a dump truck lost control, resulting in a 15-vehicle accident on Jl. Raya Purwodadi in Pasuruan, East Java, on Friday evening.
"We have yet identify the victims. Our personnel are collecting data on the field," Pasuruan Traffic Police chief Adj. Comr. Evon Fitrianto said as quoted by tribunnews.com on Saturday.
Evon said the victims were taken to nearby Purwodadi public health clinic and Marsudi Waluyo Hospital.
Eyewitnesses said a dump truck driven by Farikhul, 35, lost control and rammed into 14 other vehicles: seven motorcycles, six cars and another dump truck.
Heavy downpour was reported at the scene. (dmr)
