efense Minister Prabowo Subianto has again joined President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on a work trip, visiting South Kalimantan only days after the two made a joint appearance at a rice harvesting event in Central Java.

Prabowo was seen joining Jokowi during a mass prayer event in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, before taking a trip to visit a local market in the regency.

In a video distributed by the State Secretariat on Thursday, Prabowo could be seen standing next to the President as he delivered a press statement after visiting the market.

A Merdeka Palace spokesperson said that Prabowo was present on the invitation from local organizers of the mass prayer.

"Pak Prabowo was invited by the organizers. He was in fact delivering a speech before the President," the Palace Press spokesman Bey Machmudin was quoted by Tempo as saying.

Last week, Prabowo and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo joined Jokowi during a rice harvesting event in Kebumen, Central Java.

Speculation was rife following the meeting that the two could be a potential pairing endorsed by Jokowi for the 2024 presidential election.

President Jokowi, who has been actively seeking to influence the hunt for his successor, could have used the Kebumen event as his way of testing the waters.
