O

ptimism in achieving the oil production target of 1 million barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 12 billion cubic standard feed of gas per day (BSCFD) in 2030 has increased and strengthened following the implementation of the 2020 International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas (IOG 2020) on 2-4 December 2020. The Upstream Oil and Gas Special Task Force (SKK Migas) together with the production sharing contractors (PSCs) are ready to synergize and collaborate with all stakeholders to realize the upstream oil and gas sector long-term vision.

Commitment is also shown by all PSC contractors who are ready to support the achievement of the target of 1 million BOPD and 12 BSCFD in 2030 by optimizing exploration and production activities in their respective working areas. All PSC contractors are also committed to working together and collaborating in carrying out exploration and production activities so that the management of oil and gas blocks can be carried out effectively and efficiently.

Amid optimism after the 2020 IOG, SKK Migas together with the PSC contractors are ready to continue the work program that has been prepared in the Indonesian Oil & Cas Strategic Plan 4.0 (IOG 4.0). An aggressive work plan is designed to minimize the decline in production in 2021, while at the same time overseeing the achievement of the oil and gas production target in 2030.

These aggressive steps are also supported by an increase in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection (K3LL) standards that have been set by SKK Migas for 2021, namely an incident rate of <0.9 and that from 90% of PSC contractors who receive an obedient rating (blue) from the Environment and Forestry Ministry, as much as 40% received a more compliant rating (green & gold). This is an effort to build a sustainable and environmentally friendly upstream oil and gas industry.
