View all search resultsollowing the success of Dua Garis Biru (Two Blue Stripes) in 2019, production house Starvision and content creator Wahana Kreator have collaborated once again for Cinta Pertama, Kedua & Ketiga (The First, Second & Third Love) by writer, director, and producer Gina S. Noer.
Starting production in 2020 and set to hit theaters nationwide on Jan. 6, 2022, the movie follows Raja (Angga Yunanda) and Asia (Putri Marino), two young adults saddled with the responsibility of taking care of their respective parents.
Cinta Pertama, Kedua & Ketiga, which had its premiere on Dec. 28 at Epicentrum XXI Jakarta, is Gina’s second film as director and scriptwriter after the massive success of Dua Garis Biru, which was watched by more than 2.5 million people in theaters and won a number of awards, including Best Original Screenplay at the 2019 Indonesian Film Festival.
According to Gina, Cinta Pertama, Kedua & Ketiga is a heartwarming and reflective family movie to open the new year.
“This film is a love letter to many families who always strive to find the best even during the worst. The story digs deep into how families can stay together even in less-than-ideal situations. It’s about two families with a single parent, a child who grew up as a sandwich generation and the one who becomes a caretaker for their ailing parent. They meet during the pandemic, yet they still find a way to have a dance with life to find love, humor and hope together,” she said, adding that she hoped Cinta Pertama, Kedua & Ketiga would be able to provide a breath of fresh air to the meaning of family as well as the relationship between them.
Chand Parwez Servia, president director of Starvision and the movie’s producer, noted that the collaborative work asked audiences to reflect on the values of love and family with its poignant message.
“For me, this film is very personal as a son from a father, as well as a father to my children. As the opening film of 2022, we hope that Cinta Pertama, Kedua & Ketiga can increase theatergoers’ enthusiasm to return to movie theaters,” he said.
Wahana Kreator CEO Salman Aristo said the company welcomed its second collaboration with Starvision, noting that many lessons were learned during the production process that would make the movie more enjoyable for audiences.
“We always believe that a sincere story can raise our spirits in these challenging times,” he said.
“This movie will bring new energy to our filming industry after nearly two years of the COVID-19 pandemic limiting many of our activities and spaces. Through this film, we can see that hope and second chances will always exist.”
