The country’s largest fuel retailer has lowered the price of its Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite and Pertamina Dex fuel brands for the first time this year to adjust to declining global crude prices and promote the use of unsubsidized fuels.

tate-owned oil company Pertamina has lowered the prices of its three unsubsidized fuel brands for the first time this year to adjust to a decline in global oil prices and divert fuel consumption away from its subsidized brands.
The company said the price adjustments to Pertamax Turbo gasoline and to Dexlite and Pertamina Dex diesel had taken effect on Thursday.
The cuts varied by region, ranging from Rp 700 to Rp 2,000 per liter, depending on local fuel tax policies.
In Jakarta, the price of Pertamax Turbo fell to Rp 15,900 per liter from the previous Rp 17,900, while Dexlite dropped to Rp 17,100 per liter from Rp 17,900 and Pertamina Dex to Rp 17,400 per liter from Rp 18,900.

Irto Ginting, acting corporate secretary of Pertamina’s commercial and trading arm, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, said in a statement on Thursday that the price cut was “a corporate action that follows requirements set by the government”.
The measure, he said, was in accordance with Energy and Mineral Resources Ministerial Decree No. 62/2020, which stipulates a formula to calculate the retail price of unsubsidized gasoline and diesel sold at gas stations throughout the country.
